History

First…

Founded on May 15, 1851, Alpha Delta Pi was the first secret society for college women in the world. Established at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, the first college chartered to grant degrees to women, we were originally named “The Adelphean Society”, originating from the Greek word “Adelphean” meaning “sister.”

Finest...

Alpha Delta Pi was established upon the four principles of : scholarship, leadership, service to others, and sisterhood. Through the years, the qualifications for membership have remained unchanged. To date, more than 210,00 women have been initiated into the sisterhood. Many are continuing their involvement in one of our over 137 collegiate chapters or 150 alumnae associations throughout the United States and Canada. Alpha Delta Pi’s national philanthropy is the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Our chapter's commitment and philanthropic efforts are focused on the incredible Ronald McDonald houses here in the local Orlando community.

Forever...

The principles established by our founders in 1851 are enduring standards exemplifying the highest ideals of Christian womanhood. Our creed states that Alpha Delta Pi is more than ritual and more than a symbol; that it is a way of life. ADPi is something you are, not just something you become. What we represent at the University of Central Florida, and what we have symbolized throughout North American chapters since 1851 will keep us the first and finest...forever.

The Zeta Omega Chapter

The Zeta Omega chapter, here at the University of Central Florida, was founded on January 23, 1982. Our beautiful house was open to residents in the fall of 1989. The Zeta Omega chapter continues its legacy every year by bringing home the most outstanding women to join our sisterhood.
